ANOTHER long Chapter to read, but let’s be patient, for we believe that all Scripture has something to teach us. We see that Aaron who had been so weak as to help the people to make the golden calf has been restored and that he is one of the priestly team. All of us make mistakes. If the Church were to be led only by men who had never sinned we would be leaderless! What is important is that we should confess our sins to God, repent and know His forgiveness.
The refrain throughout this Chapter is “as the Lord commanded Moses.” In spite of all the hassle the Israelites gave him Moses never forgot what God had told him to do when they met on the mountain and he was faithful in relaying that to the people. We need godly leaders who will spend time finding out the will of God and then share it with the people. Pray for such.
When we read the details of the robes that were made we have to marvel at the craftsmanship and the time and patience they must have spent in making them. These were a skilled, intelligent and artistic nation, not some intermediate stage in the “evolution” of mankind. They were every bit as clever as we are today, perhaps even more so in some respects, for modern life has robbed us of many skills we used to have.
So (v 32) it was all ready. Everyone brought their separate bit to Moses and for the first time they saw the plan of God in reality. It’s not easy sometimes to see where our part of the work fits in, but God has a grand design and if we will be obedient and do what He has told us to do then eventually we will see how this mighty, eternal jigsaw fits together. It will be far greater than we can imagine!
